All I did to make these was to twist and pull on the little wooden blocks on the bottom of my bottle brush trees until they came off.

Then I added a generous amount of hot glue to the wire “trunk” of the tree and around the top of the wooden spool.

I pressed the tree in and made sure it was standing up straight. I also made sure to press down on the bottom branches of the tree so it stuck to the wooden spool very well.
